The Story

The Challenge &
Our Solution

When Hurricane Melissa struck Western Jamaica, it left more than just physical damage — it disrupted the education of thousands of children. With schools closed, 3,800 primary students were left without access to the structured learning they need to thrive.

The School-in-a-Box initiative is our response. Developed by EduFocal and led by the Save Our Boys and Girls Foundation, this project provides physical kits filled with curriculum-aligned workbooks, stationery, and essential supplies. These boxes are distributed to small, mentor-led learning pods of 15 students, creating a supportive and effective environment for remedial education right in the heart of the communities that need it most.

How It Works

A simple model with
lasting impact.

01

The Box

Each 12"×12"×12" box, sponsored by AMG Packaging, is packed with enough learning materials for 15 students — workbooks, pencils, and essential school supplies.

02

The Mentors

We recruit and train local mentors who lead learning pods in their communities, providing guidance, support, and a safe space for students to catch up on their studies.

03

The Goal

Combat learning loss. By providing targeted resources, we help students bridge the educational gap and get back on track for a successful academic future.
